Joan Knapp is an amazing middle school teacher. She has created a curriculum to educate students about Substance Use Disorder, empowering them to know they are the first line of defense in protecting themselves and others against the impact of this disease. Beautiful and meaningful Hope Trees are created as a hands-on project connected to the curriculum. The Hope Trees are auctioned and the funds raised donated to Prinicipio to help those in recovery.
This meaningful project teaches the students lessons in art, science, and language arts and provides them with critical prevention education at an important point in their lives.
Principio is grateful that Joan chose those we serve to benefit from her timely, successful and very needed program.
